Excellent quality; gathers a lot of light, crisp images. 72mm makes it a little bulky, but I suppose that is the price you pay for the great results.

The lens is fantastic. Very smooth. Beautiful pictures. I liked not having to change lenses to zoom in. Check out the f/. It is a fast lens! The VR also works great. But I had a hard time carrying it as it is heavy. I usually hand carry my camera with lens on when I hike (you never know when that perfect shot composes itself!). Wish my arms / hands weren't so wimpy.
